About Adult Services
Welcome! Adult Services is located on the second floor of the New Lenox Public Library. We provide reference, research, and reader's advisory services, as well as assistance with the 22 computers available in our Technology Center. We also are happy to help you maneuver the web or any of our valuable online resources available to you as a New Lenox Library cardholder from our
research page.

In addition, we offer 24/7 reference assistance online through our Ask Away service.

Needle and Fiber Arts Group
Meets the first and third Wednesday of the month @ 6:30 p.m.

Writer's Group

Starting Your Family Tree

This is the workshop that will get you started gathering and collecting your family history. Armed with insightful
information for where to look for information and how to request copies of important family documents, you will
be able to do so much more than plot names on a family tree!
Diabetes

Dr. Michael Condon, a Science Based Nutrition Affiliate and Palmer College of Chiropractic Graduate will speak
about Diabetes and the many ways to help lower your glucose and keep it down.
In this program you will:
Find out exactly what to eat to control your glucose
Find the best tests to run to control and improve your blood sugar levels
Find out what may be holding you back from eliminating diabetes
New Lenox Idol
Saturday, May 1, 1 pm - 3 pm, Meeting Rooms A & B
Are YOU the next NEW LENOX IDOL? Once again, the library will
host the 4th annual New Lenox Idol contest. The singing competition
is open to contestants aged 13 and up. Karaoke CD or instrumental
only track must be provided by contestants at least 2 days in advance of the
competition. The audience votes for the winners so be sure to tell friends
and family to come show their support! Prizes will be awarded!
Computer Classes
Limited to New Lenox Library cardholders. Five person minimum required for each class. Most classes are limited to 15 spaces; some only 10. You can
register for a class by calling the library Adult Services desk at (815) 485-2605 or by e-mailing
nlreference@newlenoxlibrary.org. However, EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1 there will be a $5 non-refundable
registration fee for each computer class. The fee is payable at the time of registration and registration is not
considered complete until the fee is paid. Under certain circumstances the fee can be refunded if cancellation is
made 24 hours or more before the class.

Book Discussion

New Lenox Public Library District currently provides meeting room space and obtains books for three book clubs. These clubs are member-run and generally meet once a month. Please consider joining one or all of these clubs and start discussing, sharing and enjoying the experience of reading with a group! Call to reserve your copy of a book today!
